St. Pius X has Faith Formation opportunities for for students in PreK through 6th grade. Students will grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the study of the Church, the Sacraments and the Moral Life.
Faith formation is available for kids as early as 3 years of age through the Catechesis of the Good Shepard (CGS) program. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a growing program in our parish and requires certified catechists trained in the method of CGS. Because of this, the parish is only able to offer a number of spots according to the number of trained catechists available. Enrollment for the CGS program normally opens in April. Please visit the CGS webpage for more info on the CGS program.
Wednesday night faith formation is not available for children before 1st grade.
Children and grades 1 through 5 may be enrolled in either the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program OR the Monthly Wednesday Family Faith Formation Program.
Grades 1-5 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
For children in grades 1 through 5 may enroll in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program. Visit the CGS webpage for more information about the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and how to enroll.
Grades 1-6 Wednesday Night Family Faith Formation
Family Catechesis is the emphasis of our program. This focus equips parents to pass on the Catholic Faith to their children, and grow in their faith together as a family. Families meet at St Pius X one Wednesday a month (usually the first) from 6 - 7:15 PM. Students attend classes as usual while parents gather as a separate group for catechesis and evangelization. Home lessons are distributed during this meeting for the rest of the month.
Classes are from 6:00 - 7:15 PM and run October - April.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Here at St. Pius X, preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are offered during 2nd grade. The St. Pius X First Reconciliation and First Eucharist program is a home-based curriculum. Watch for information in the weekly bulletin and in your student's Elementary School folder in the beginning of each academic school year.
