St. Pius X Parish and the Diocese of Green Bay are committed to creating, providing, and maintaining safe environments in all its parishes, schools, and other institutions so that all persons, especially children, youth, and individuals at risk, will be protected as far as possible from all harm including physical and sexual abuse. To this end, the diocese has developed a process of intial and on-going training in order to best equip volunteers to curate the safest environment possible for children and vulnerable adults.
The Diocese of Green Bay offers an online training called VIRTUS that identifies best practices' programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "right doing" within religious organizations and to raise awareness regarding sexual abuse in our Church and society.
All volunteers who are responsible for overseeing minors and vulnerable adults are required to fulfill a number of requirements in order to be compliant with safe environment policy. Below you will find the instructions for the initial process for compliance, the on-going process for compliance, and the instructions for volunteers who are under the age of 18.
